Clare College wins RIBA award

Clare College in Cambridge has won a RIBA Award for its new conference facilities, The Gillespie Centre, designed by north London-based architects van Heyningen and Haward,. Opened officially by The Duke of Edinburgh, the centre was one of 100 new UK buildings to achieve ‘high architectural standards and make a substantial contribution to the environment’.Built on three floors, The Gillespie Centre comprises a 150-seat auditorium and three break out rooms suitable for between 30-150 people, all fully equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment.
