Partners for Ipswich half marathon

The Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon has confirmed that thebestofipswich, the Ipswich Building Society, St Elizabeth Hospice, Willis and John Grose have become official event partners for the inaugural race. Thebestofipswich, run jointly by Kevin Barber and Tracy Bacon, encourages word of mouth marketing, by showcasing a select number of local businesses who have been recommended by local people. 

“We are pleased to work and raise the profile of the Ipswich community and its events supporting the local residents,” said Kevin Barber. 

 Jo Leah, of the Ipswich Building Society, added, “We feel it is key to support community initiatives and are pleased that our involvement in the event has come out of our relationship with Team Ipswich in the Fit For Work Initiative, benefiting our employees and the community.”Catherine Barnes, Corporate Fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice said, “We are really excited to be a part of the Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon. It should be a great event for the town and the support for St Elizabeth Hospice will help us continue to provide care for patients and their families, friends and carers.” “Willis is proud to be involved in the event as our aspiration is to be involved and support the town,” said Will Mule, of international insurance brokers, Willis. Jennifer Price, spokesperson for John Grose said: “John Grose is pleased to continue its Team Ipswich support. We are proud to be involved in such a prestigious event as the Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon.” “We are pleased to welcome on board our event partners,” said David King, a partner with Larking Gowen. “It’s very encouraging to see how much support we are getting from local business as they realise the benefits the race brings to them.” Councillor Judy Terry, the Borough Council's portfolio holder for Arts, Culture and Leisure, commented, “It is very encouraging when local businesses wish to help promote this inaugural event and we are very grateful for their support.”    The race takes place on 30 August starting and finishing at the Northgate Sports Centre, Ipswich.  Full details of the race and how to enter can be found at http://www.ipswichhalfmarathon.co.uk
