Ingleton Wood is one of the leading multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancies in the East of England.

An award-winning Practice, that provides architecture, building surveying, civil and structural engineering, building services engineering, project management, quantity surveying, planning, interior design, CDM and health & safety and sustainability services.

What we do

Working across both the public and private sector, Ingleton Wood deliver functional, high quality building solutions where the work is tailored to meet our clients’ individual needs and aspirations.

With offices in London, Colchester, Cambridge, Norwich and Billericay, we cover the entire Eastern region and beyond, delivering projects in a number of sectors including education, health, leisure, defence and retail, as well as commercial and residential.

Our commissions range from large-scale new build and refurbishment projects through to smaller value design and survey work.

Our experience and expertise is as diverse as our client base, recent examples of projects include:

  • Multi-million pound residential projects including the completion of the ‘Wine Rack’ on Ipswich waterfront, Duke’s Wharf, St Anne’s Wharf and Carrow Quay in Norwich and Century Tower at Essex County Cricket Club;
  • The expansion and block replacement schemes for numerous schools and trusts across our region including the Gilberd School, Colchester, Manningtree High School and Plume Community Academy, Maldon;
  • An award-winning development on the main campus of City College Norwich and adding a new floor to the South Wing of Colchester Institute;
  • A new football ground for Chelmsford City Football Club and a new training facility for Colchester United;
  • Blue-light commissions including a new fire station for Cambridgeshire Fire Service in Burwell and a masterplan for the centralisation of Essex Fire Authority’s support services;
  • Works to Harwich Haven Port Authority’s Radar Tower and a masterplan for the future of their building stock;
  • Multi-storey car-parks for Norwich City Council, Milton Keynes Hospital and Coventry University Hospital;
  • Petrol filling stations and roadside retail including roll out of EV charging stations;
  • Student accommodation at Homerton College, Cambridge and the refurbishment of halls of residence at the University of Bedfordshire.
  • Commissions on BT Tower, The Savoy Hotel, Liberty’s in Regent Street, the National Theatre;
  • Healthcare commissions for Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Colchester University Hospital, Southend Hospital, Hinchingbrook Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare at St. Mary’s Paddington, Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital for children;
  • Defence commissions for the USAF at RAF Lakenheath, RAF Coningsby and RAF Croughton;
  • Numerous cross sector commissions for some of our regions leading contractors including Carters, Kiers, Coulson Group, Beardwell Construction and T J Evers;

Ingleton Wood is at the cutting edge of sustainable solutions for the build environment. With sustainability a central theme to our work, we deliver innovative and practical energy-saving designs.  We also assist clients to reduce the carbon footprint of their existing building stock.

We have won multiple awards for our work on BREEAM accreditation - the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for masterplanning projects, infrastructure and buildings. Our team works closely with our architectural and building services engineering disciplines to ensure truly integrated energy strategies and advise on renewable technologies that deliver best value.

Long-standing experience and an exciting future

We recently acquired Martindales Architects Ltd in Cambridge, a sign of our future ambition, providing expanded services and taking advantage of the buoyant local markets in Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. We are now looking even further West and anticipate opening an Oxford office in the next few months.
