Plans have been submitted for a new mixed-use park of 2.45m sq ft of business, warehouse and industrial space at the Gateway 14 site in Stowmarket close to the A14 that is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the Suffolk town. New facilities will be available on a bespoke or speculative basis which should appeal to R&D, logistics and manufacturing users and the park will offer high-spec space for a wide range of uses. Landscaping will produce a biodiversity net gain  at the site.

The park is a development by Gateway 14 Ltd (owned by Mid Suffolk District Council) and developer, Jaynic. Sir Christopher Haworth, chairman of Gateway 14, said: “This is an important moment for Gateway 14 and Stowmarket.  It is a big step forward in the delivery of jobs for the area and will bring huge benefit from the very significant investment that these new buildings will deliver, from a range of occupiers.  I hope that these proposals will be fully supported by the local community.”

Ben Oughton, development director for Jaynic, said: “We believe this scheme will be a great asset providing hundreds of jobs in the region on this important trunk road between the UK motorway network and the major ferry port of Felixstowe. We already have significant interest from companies wanting space at G14.”  Jaynic hopes contractors will be on site by June to construct the estate roads, services and landscaping and it could be delivering buildings by the first quarter of 2022. Agents for the scheme are Savills and Avison Young.
