A new pharmaceutical R & D base which has created 18 jobs in Cambridge, the Chirotech Technology Centre, will be officially opened next week.

The new facility will be mainly used for R & D technologies that enable more effective development and manufacture of drugs. Chirotech was taken over by Dr Reddy’s, an India-based pharmaceutical group three years ago, but has retained the name. EEDA assisted Dr Reddy’s in setting up the new centre.

Dr Anji Reddy, founder of  Dr Reddy’s, and Dr Hamied, chairman of pharmaceutical company Cipla and an honorary fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge, will open the new facility. Around 100 guests from the industry and medical sector will attend a tree-planting ceremony.
