A development manager has been appointed and a planning application is set to be submitted later this year for Gateway 14, a major mixed-use business park scheme near the A14 at Stowmarket in Suffolk. Jaynic has been appointed development manager for the scheme and has signed a 15 year development agreement with Gateway 14 Ltd., a subsidiary of Mid-Suffolk District Council, to enable a phased development on the project. It will involve 2.3 million sq ft of business, logistics and commercial space being built on a 156 site with the first buildings being available in 2021/2. Gateway 14, will provide a mixed-use business park for warehousing and logistics with an innovation cluster in the “space to innovate” enterprise zone. It aims to benefit the wider economic area and encourage the growth of creative and tech businesses as well as maximising inward investment, job creation and community benefits. Work on the main infrastructure is planned to start by next spring with occupation starting early in 2022.The site near jct. 50 of the A14 could offer logistics buildings up to 1,000,000 sq ft and hq office/R&D campus-style buildings.
