Essex law firm Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP, which has offices in Colchester, Chelmsford and Clacton on Sea is to merge with Chelmsford firm Budd Martin Burrett in July. The merged firm plans further growth in Chelmsford and along the A12 corridor to London.

Tony Fisher, senior partner at Fisher Jones Greenwood, said: “This is an excellent strategic move for both firms that will make available additional expertise in all commercial and private client areas in Chelmsford. There are challenging times ahead for the legal profession generally and only the most efficient and client-focused firms will prosper in the new legal services environment. Although wide ranging, the reforms offer great opportunities for those firms prepared to grasp them.”

Chris Jones, partner Budd Martin Burrett, said : “The investment being made in the firm will provide us with the resources we need to take us to the next level in Chelmsford. It gives us the ability to grow the practice as the economy recovers. '

Budd Martin Burrett has traded for over over 40 years in Essex. The merger will take place on 1st July and the firm will trade under the name of Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP (incorporating Budd Martin Burrett).
